The biggest news in basketball this week was that Angel Reese switched teams. The 23-year-old WNBA star is moving from Chicago Sky to Atlanta Dream in a huge new deal. And to go with the new team, the young basketball star is showing off a brand new look, too. Angel Reese stepped out into New York this week with a new look that she describes as Betty Boo.
For fans, Reese looked like she had just stepped out of the 1920s. Her long hair is now short, and she has a curled pixie cut. Sharing images on Instagram, the new look is actually meant for a new Victoria’s Secret campaign.
Styled by Dionte “Arrogant Tae” Gray, her new hair isn’t some kind of cosplay either. It’s a beautiful, sophisticated new look for the young star. One fan perhaps summed it up perfectly by saying, “The short hair is tea!!!! 👏🏾” And they are not the only ones in love with the new hair style. Others left comments, like “This hair on you is 😍” and “She is so beautiful and inspiring”.
But her hairstyle is just one part of the new look. Her outfit, a tailored black-and-white houndstooth coat dress, did the rest. Styled by Matthew and Reginald Reisman, it had structure up top, while a cut in the coat dress (with a high slit) kept things interesting below.
While Reese certainly isn’t new to modeling, the new campaign marks her first as a lead for Victoria’s Secret.

In her chat with Essence, she kept it all very personal and humble. “Right now I’m feeling like Betty Boo. My mom is my hero… I showed her and she was like, ‘Oh my God, girl! You look good!’ I feel like the biggest compliment is always from your mom.”
Reese has always built her image and her brand around confidence, the “Barbie” persona, the attitude, and those game stats, of course. She’s done it for Reebok, and now she’s doing it for Victoria’s Secret, too.
