President Donald Trump and Jimmy Kimmel are still locked in a feud so long it probably needs its own spin-off series. The latest episode dropped late Wednesday, when President Donald Trump jumped on Truth Social and yelled: “Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air? Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!” Subtle as always.
Kimmel had just finished another opening monologue. He joked that Trump “loses his mind” every time someone brings up those Epstein files and reminded viewers of the now-infamous “quiet, piggy” line Trump fired at a reporter on Air Force One. You can almost hear the steam whistle blowing out of Trump Tower.
This isn’t a new fight, however. Trump has been calling for Kimmel’s firing for a long time now. Earlier this week, he threatened ABC’s broadcast license after more Epstein-related jokes. Back in July, after Stephen Colbert’s show ended, Trump celebrated by writing, “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
Kimmel hasn’t exactly been shy either. He roasted Trump for hosting “a murderer for dinner at the White House,” referring to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “They had a murderer for dinner at the White House last night,” he said during his monologue. “Trump hosted a black tie gala for the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, who also happened to be one of Jeffrey Epstein’s good pals. According to the writer Michael Wolff, Epstein and MBS, as they call him, were so tight they would play video games together for hours.” Kimmel even compared the whole thing to “an alumni dinner for the Legion of Doom” while flashing a poll showing Trump at a modest 38 percent approval rating.

Trump insists he’s not watching.
ABC once actually benched Kimmel for nearly a week in September after jokes tied to the killing of Charlie Kirk and the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson. Conservative media complained that Kimmel unfairly linked Robinson to far-right politics. Networks panicked. Kimmel returned soon after and delivered the most-watched regular episode of his career with 6.3 million viewers.
Now Trump is back with threats, suggesting ABC keeping Kimmel on-air might be an illegal campaign contribution. He even bragged, “Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.”
Late-night TV has always been a bit political. If anything, it fuels the comedy. Kimmel knows it. And President Donald Trump definitely knows it. But if Jimmy gets fired again, will he make another comeback?
