Paris Fashion Week has always had a habit of turning sidewalks into catwalks. On March 3, actress and model Sofia Vergara decided to treat the streets of the French capital exactly like that… a catwalk. Cameras clicked, and heads turned, but the 53-year-old Modern Family star continued parading the town in the most fashionable outfits possible. But it’s her sheer top, shown in her Instagram pics, that has all of Paris talking.
Vergara arrived in the city for the Costes party, and, of course, she didn’t show up without creating a little buzz. Her outfit leaned hard into the naked dressing trend that has been creeping across runways from Chanel to Givenchy. Instead of easing into it, she went straight for a completely sheer mesh top. The fabric hugged her frame like a second skin and revealed a black lace bra underneath. It’s not subtle at all.
The real twist came from the layering. Vergara threw a thick black fur coat over her shoulders (as we can see from the images on her Instagram account), the kind of plush outerwear that belongs in those old Hollywood photos. The contrast between delicate mesh and heavy fur did all the work, of course.
Despite her fashion choices, her look was simple but beautiful. She had straight brunette hair and soft smoky eyes and wore a small gold bracelet.
Later during the same Paris trip, Vergara switched things up again. For another outing tied to the Fashion Week buzz, she wore a plunging purple lace corset with visible boning paired with a darker purple leather maxi skirt. Open-toe pumps and a small heart-shaped necklace finished the look. The corset trend has been everywhere lately, with designers such as Simone Rocha pairing fuzzy bras with leather jackets while Sarah Burton’s Givenchy collections play with sheer fabrics and exposed undergarments.
Outside the fashion circuit, she kept things more relaxed on Instagram. One post showed her leaning over a plate of caramel-covered flan with a friend named Fajer, teasing the camera with a spoonful of dessert. Same sleek hair. Same soft pink eye makeup.
Vergara recently wrapped her sixth season as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Her Netflix series Griselda earned her an Emmy nomination for playing drug lord Griselda Blanco. She also launched Dios Mío Coffee in 2024, a Colombian brand that supports female coffee growers.
Somewhere between fashion parties, TV tapings, and building a coffee business, she still found time to confirm her relationship with American businessman Douglas Chabbott after her 2024 divorce from Joe Manganiello.
Paris looks good on Sofia Vergara. And there’s no doubt that Sofia Vergara looks good in Paris.
