Pamela Anderson, now 58, says she’s ready to talk about what actually went down with her The Naked Gun co-star Liam Neeson. And yes, there was hand-holding.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” she tells PEOPLE. So that settles that. Not a PR stunt. Not a fever dream from the summer box office rush. Real feelings.
Their romance wasn’t exactly jet-setting glamour. Instead, the two enjoyed what Pamela calls an “intimate week” at Neeson’s upstate New York home. She points out she had her own room, which feels like the kind of detail you mention to keep the internet from getting too dramatic.
They went out to a tiny French restaurant, where Liam introduced her as the “future Mrs. Neeson.” That’s either adorable or terrifying depending on which way you look at it. They wandered his garden too, with Pamela tackling an overgrown rosebush. “I tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint … I was happy to help, and he appreciated.” And then… Neeson shooed away a bear from the breakfast window while wearing his bathrobe.
And that wasn’t even a scene from The Naked Gun.

Then it was over. Just like that. Work calls, deadlines loom, and actors scatter to new sets in new cities. They only circled back during promotion for The Naked Gun over the summer.
There was cuddling. Hand-holding. A playful moment with her Sonsie lip balm on Andy Cohen’s What What Happens Live. Pamela describes it as feeling “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.”
People assumed the romance must be for press. Pamela laughs at that. “A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.”
She still has plenty of affection for him too: “I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.” They last saw each other in August at the Williamstown Theater Festival, where Liam showed up to support her Tennessee Williams performance.
“He kindly tells me he is very proud of me,” she says. And she believes they’ll stay in each other’s lives.
That’s the real story of Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.
