Have you ever looked at Jordan sneakers and wished that they were really tall, high-heeled boots? No? Honestly, me neither, but I’m sure someone has. Legendary and wacky footwear artist @uv_zhu has made that a reality with these Nike Air Jordan x Travis Scott “Chicago” high-heel boots, and I have to admit that they are pretty gorgeous.
Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” High Heels
The “Chicago” colourway is one of the most well-known and loved sneaker colourways, period. The inspiration is obvious: It was designed to represent Michael Jordan’s legendary career with the Chicago Bulls, and the white, red, and black colourway was one of the first that ever graced MJ’s feet and the courts.
These high-heeled boots take the inspiration to the next level, shaping and colouring themselves after the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” sneakers that were first teased back in 2021. They almost perfectly mirror the placement of each colour and overlay as they make their way up these incredibly arched heels.
Starting from the outsole, arch, and heel, all parts of the sole have been coloured to copy the red outsole of the inspiration sneakers. A very thin layer of red is quickly followed by white to give the illusion of the sneakers’ midsole.
It’s shocking to see how well the panels and overlays on the Air Jordan 1 translate to a pair of high-heeled boots. The placement is perfect, and each part of the sneaker is repeated, if not a little elongated and shifted to fit the silhouette of the heeled boots.
The reverse Swoosh of the Travis Scott version of the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” sneakers works perfectly on the new silhouette. It’s hard to imagine that the sneakers would have looked as good if the artist had chosen to go with the original instead.
Although it may be odd to look at at first, these artistically rendered boots have made me wish that more Jordan sneakers came in high-heeled options.
