Brazilian influencer Bárbara Jankavski, better known online as “Boneca Desumana” or “Inhuman Doll,” died on November 2 in São Paulo. She was 31. Known for her obsession with plastic surgery, which included 27 procedures in total, Jankavski had become something of a viral sensation, with over 55,000 followers on Instagram and more than 344,000 on TikTok. Her fans knew her as “Human Barbie,” a nickname she leaned into proudly, sharing every detail of her dramatic transformation into a real-life version of Mattel’s doll.
But her final story was anything but glamorous. According to a report by CNN Brasil, Jankavski was found unresponsive by public defender Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, 51, after the two allegedly consumed illicit substances during what he described as a “private meeting.” He told police he had hired her for “sexual services.” When she stopped moving in her sleep, he claimed he tried to revive her before calling emergency services.

Authorities later arrived to find her partially clothed, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back. Toxicology and necropsy tests were ordered, and her death is being treated as suspicious. A friend reportedly told police that the bruise on her eye came from an earlier fall that same day, though investigators haven’t confirmed that account.
Her death sparked a wave of public fascination and sadness across Brazil. It wasn’t just because of how she died, but who she had become. Jankavski’s journey into fame was built on a desire to stand out in a world obsessed with perfection. She didn’t just post selfies; she documented the surgeries, the pain, the transformations. In June, she even shared clips from her latest facelift. Her fans loved her for her honesty and eccentricity, even when it made others uncomfortable.
Her final TikTok, posted a month before her death, featured her laughing with fellow influencer Avós Da Razão. It’s now filled with messages from grieving followers. “Rest in peace diva, you lived a bit of the life that I always wanted, that comforts us a bit,” one person wrote. Another commented, “Wow, when I saw it was her I couldn’t believe it. Rest in peace my love.”
