MSCHF Put A Real Diamond In A Piece Of Candy

The company has produced several unorthodox and avant-garde projects that not only question societal norms but also serve as cultural commentaries, sparking conversations and challenging perceptions throughout the years. Just another example of their distinctive approach to art and culture is MSCHF’s most recent creation/stunt, an actual diamond set inside a hard candy ring.

If you were around in the ’80s and ’90s, you are most certainly aware of how popular edible bling—particularly Ring Pops—was at the time. Of course, MSCHF, being the imaginative and edgy brand that they are, took this nostalgic trend and made it viral once more by releasing a luxe, limited edition Ring Pop. Of course, their take on this classic confection isn’t nearly as simple as the original.

MSCHF is selling sterling silver candy rings with a sweet gemstone on top. After licking through seven grammes of sugar, you’re left with a chic piece of jewellery with a 0.75-carat lab-grown diamond in the centre. This is quite a step up from the simple plastic and sugar gems we indulged in growing up.

What’s more, the company has produced three delectable varieties for their line: green apple, blue raspberry cotton candy, and strawberry. Even though this release is gimmicky, that’s precisely what makes MSCHF so well-liked by its consumers: their unique ability to take every day, outdated, or sentimental objects and turn them into something special and appealing once again.
